Game 18: Minnesota Twins at Baltimore Orioles

First Pitch: 6:05 pm CDT
TV: FSN
Radio: Twins Radio Network/TIBN
Know Thine Enemy: Camden Chat
We all remember what happened last night. Let's hope it doesn't happen again tonight. The Twins (6-11) are in Baltimore taking on the Orioles (6-9), who broke an 8-game losing streak last night to the tune of an 11-0 shutout win. Tonight, we're relying on Nick Blackburn, who is going up against Baltimore's Zach Britton (also #53, it'll be a grand battle).

Lineups and pitcher information after the jump.

Blackburn is 1-2 on the year, losing his starts against Oakland and in Tampa Bay. He hasn't gone more than 6 innings yet this year, and with the state of our bullpen right now, we really need the starters to settle in and pitch longer into the games. And you know, that whole 'run support' thing would certainly be nice as well.

2011 - Zach Britton 2-1 2.75 1.12 14 7

Zach Britton is a rookie pitcher for the O's, winning 2 of his first 3 starts. He pitched pretty well against Tampa and Texas earlier, and his only loss so far came from Cleveland. He posted a sub-3.00 ERA his last two years in the minors, and looks to be a promising young starter for Baltimore. He is a lefty, though, so we'll see how he does against the Twins tonight.

Notes:
-
Justin Morneau is sitting out again. Gardy says he's better, but not fully recovered. Kelsie Smith said (via twitter-@TwinsNow) that "Morneau might pinch hit tonight if he can, umm, get off the toilet." I'll leave you all with that pleasant thought.
-LENIII originally posted a lineup that had Kubel playing 1B. I almost wish this would have happened.
-Delmon is still out. He's still sore and is day-to-day with that. Gardy says he's also battling the flu "off and on".
-Kevin Slowey is headed to Fort Myers to complete his final step of the whole rehab assignment ordeal. He'll throw bullpen sessions, but it's not sure if he will pitch in minor league games yet.
-Basically our whole team is in shambles and the only one that can save us is STEVE HOLM!. Hopefully.

Have a good game, folks, and don't give up on that optimism yet!
