Morneau out at least 6 weeks, Mauer to occasionally fill 1B?

In a move that we've seen coming for the last few weeks, Per Souhan's twitter account Morneau will undergo surgery to alleviate his neck pain. This is a good thing, and I'm glad the Twins are taking this route instead of forcing him to play through this pain. It's a good way to mess his mechanics up and potentially cause a worse injury. He'll be out about six weeks following the surgery, which should take place in the next few days. Per Joe C's twitter account, Gardy has spoken to Joe Mauer about getting a first baseman's glove so that he could potentially spot start at first base in Justin's absence.
