He's not done all that well in terms of run prevention, but a lot of things look good for Peavy: strikeouts are okay, walks are good, base runners aren't a real issue. If he has command today he will be tough to beat. Peavy is still a tough pitcher.
A lot of Swarzak's numbers have come in relief this season, but he's also been solid as a starter. Coming off a relief appearance earlier in the week in which he pitched just two innings, Swarzak should be ready to go in place of Scott Baker. He doesn't have Peavy's stuff so command will be even more important since he won't be able to get away with as many mistakes.
