Know Thine Enemy: Let's Go Tribe

I'd channel Ernie Banks and say it's a beautiful day for baseball, but it's one million degrees, so let's go with this: "It's hot enough to melt cast iron. Let's play two!" Split doubleheader today, with game one at 12:10 and game two set for 7:10. Drink lots of water, everyone.

Making his first start of the year for Cleveland is lefty David Huff, who's 8-3 with a 3.86 ERA at AAA Columbus this year. He was 2-11 with a 6.21 ERA in the majors last year, and as recently as ten days ago, our Indians colleagues at Let's Go Tribe were suggesting that he's fallen from a fifth-starter candidate down to eighth or ninth in the pecking order. However, he gets a chance in game one of the doubleheader today to try to right the ship. He won't strike a lot of guys out and won't walk a lot either.

2011 - Anthony Swarzak 2-2 11 4 0 0 0 0 40.0 40 15 15 4 11 19 3.38 1.27

Swarzak's making a spot start for the fifth time this year, filling in again for the injured Scott Baker. He beat the White Sox right before the break, allowing a run on four hits over six innings, and has won his last two starts (which, granted, took place over the last two months.)
