Per Phil Mackey, the Twins have made their first roster cuts of the spring. The two biggest surprises are Lester Oliveros, who I thought might be one of the right-handed relievers at the back end of the bullpen, and Scott Diamond. While I didn't expect Diamond to make the trip north with the Twins, I did expect him to make one of the later cuts.

Optioned to Triple-A

LHP Scott Diamond
RHP Deolis Guerra
RHP Lester Oliveros
LHP Tyler Robertson
OF Darin Mastroianni

Optioned to Singe-A

OF Oswaldo Arcia

Assigned to Minor League Camp

LHP Aaron Thompson
1B Steve Pearce
C Danny Rams

For those who were wondering, the difference between being optioned to a level and being assigned to minor league camp is whether or not that player is on the 40-man roster. Be sure to check out Mackey's entry, where he makes a few notes on which remaining long-shot players seem to have the best chance to make the team.
