Yankees 6, Twins 4; Liriano Shines, Manship Sinks

Two very important, positive developments for the Twins today. First, here's Francisco Liriano's line:

5 IP 0 R, 1 BB, 5 K. As noted by LaVelle, that's 3 walks and 23 strikeouts in 18 innings this spring.

Second, Justin Morneau and his .091 average entering the game, drilled a double and scored on a Josh Willingham home run, and hit another ball hard for an out, per John Shipley.

These two developments help offset the implosion of Jeff Manship, who took a 4-0 Twins lead and Matt Capps'd it into a 6-4 defeat, being charged with all six runs, four of them earned. Jared Burton cleaned up his mess, and Kyle Waldrop closed out the game for the Twins. BULLPEN SPECULATION ENGAGE.

Sean Burroughs accounted for the Twins' other two baseball points with a 2-out, 2-run single. 25-MAN ROSTER SPECULATION ALSO ENGAGE.

The game took just over two hours to complete. Maybe we should start blaming the Red Sox for those epic, unwatchable NYY/Boston tilts.

Enjoy your weekend, everybody.
