The Twins scraped out a win against their own minor league team, the Ft. Myers Miracle, today, taking the game 8-7. Since there was no radio and no TV, I didn't get much of a chance to follow, so I'm just going by what the box score tells me happened.
Full(ish) recap and excitement for Friday after the jump!
The Twins were losing until the 7th inning, when most of the starters had stopped playing and it was minor league vs. minor league. Both teams had errors (Michael Levi fielding error for the Miracle, Sean Burroughs missed catch error for the Twins) and both teams had home runs (Oswaldo Arcia, off Blackburn in the 3rd for the Miracle; Chris Parmelee off Garcia in the 8th for the Twins). Fun fact: the Twins lineup had six doubles today. The players with a double were: Harrison, Quesada, Plouffe, Morneau, Casilla, and Burroughs. Not too shabby. Team RISP: 4-for-14. Team LOB: 12. Oi.
Coming up on Friday in Baltimore: REAL, MEANINGFUL BASEBALL. Get excited, folks. Target Field will be in use in only a few days!
