Game 32: Toronto @ Minnesota

First Pitch: 7:10pm CDTTV: FSNRadio: 1500 ESPNKnow Thine Enemy: Bluebird Banter

Taking bets as to what awful thing will befall the Twins this evening. I think either a 5-HR game from an un-retired Kelly Gruber or a mass leprosy outbreak on the Budweiser Party Deck. Hell, probably both.

Heavers:

Nick Blackburn

Per Joe C., Nick Blackburn has a 13-game winless streak. While the "win" statistic can be misleading, I think we can all agree that in Nick's case, it accurately reflects his effectiveness. AND HE'S STILL NOT THE WORST STARTING PITCHER ON THE TEAM.

Kyle Drabek

#4 / Pitcher / Toronto Blue Jays

Hey, Doug Drabek's kid! DID YOU KNOW: If Craig Grebeck had a daughter named Rebecca, and she married Kyle Drabek, and you were on a nickname-basis with her, and you were trying to get her attention from across a crowded bar, you could yell, "Hey, Beck Drabek-Grebeck!" That would be something you could do.

I think he throws a curveball.

Notes:

  • Per KSTP'S Doogie "Darren" Wolfson, there's a good chance of a players-only meeting taking place "real soon." I would hope they'll broach of the subjects of starting pitching, hitting, and fielding, and how to do all three much, much better.

Enjoy the game, everybody.
