Jim Thome Returns to Target Field

It feels like Jim Thome has been gone for a lot longer than he actually has been. This time last year he was still a Minnesota Twin, even if he wasn't hitting at the historically torrid pace he had been the season prior. For me there are two moments that will forever stand as a monument to his time in Minnesota, outside of his 600th career home run.

First, is this home run.

The first walk off homer in Target Field's history. Over the White Sox. Two years later it just hasn't gotten better than that. Not yet.

Then, of course, there was this.

179 games, 582 plate appearances, 37 home runs, and a .266/.387/.562 triple slash. Thanks for the good times Big Jim, and here's wishing you the best post baseball. Good luck during the Phillies' interleague stint. Except for the next few days.
