2012 - Scott Diamond 10-5 17 17 1 1 0 0 114.1 118 44 37 10 16 62 2.91 1.17

Diamond has turned himself into one of the American League's best and most consistent starters. His fastball has been pretty effective so far, but the key to his success this season has been his command.

2012 - James Shields 10-7 23 23 1 1 0 0 154.1 161 83 70 18 45 151 4.08 1.33

After striking out double-digit batters in three consecutive starts, Shields only struck out six in eight innings his last time out as he kept Toronto to two runs. If the Twins are going to beat the Rays they'll not only need Diamond to be his usual reliable self, but the offense will actually have to get back to scoring some runs. Shields can be hittable when his command isn't perfect, so opportunities will be there.
