Game 120: Twins @ Mariners

First Pitch: 3:10pm CDT
TV: FSN
Radio: Twins Radio Network
Know Thine Enemy: Lookout Landing

The good news is that Scott Diamond is on one of my fantasy baseball teams, and last night he pitched a good game. The bad news is that the Twins are on the verge of being swept by the Mariners. Let's see if we can't sneak in a win today.

2012 - Blake Beavan 7-7 18 18 0 0 0 0 102.2 114 59 59 17 13 54 5.17 1.24

Beavan has demonstrated superb command this season, posting impressively low was numbers that allow him to be moderately effective. He's hittable, he certainly doesn't miss many bats, and opponents BABIP is a very solid .284, but where Beavan has fallen down is stranding base runners as only 68.4% of his runners get stuck on the bases. A disturbing split: batters are hitting .301/.350/.522 against him with runners in scoring position.

2012 - Samuel Deduno 4-0 7 7 0 0 0 0 40.0 32 16 15 4 30 28 3.38 1.55

Too many base runners, all because of those walks, combined with sometimes wicked stuff. What will the Twins get from Deduno today? Either way it'll be impossible to look away.
