Samuel Deduno pitched well in his 6 innings, but failed to come away with the win, as he gave up 3 runs to the Chicago White Sox. He really only made one mistake pitch. It was an 0-2 fastball to Gordon Beckham that gave the South Siders a 2 run lead, and they would never look back.
Paul Konerko added a run with a single in the seventh inning plated the 3rd White Sox run, and Beckham added to his night with an RBI single in the eighth to make it 4 runs for the Pale Hose.
The rarerst of baseball feats was accomplished today as Jamey Carroll hit his first home run in three seasons. Since Jamey Carroll last homered, there have been five perfect games.
The Twins were not bad tonight, even though they just scored 2 runs and had 7 hits. The first run of the night came on Carroll's home run in the 5th inning.
The Twins scored one more in the 8th inning as Justin Morneau's single brought in Joe Mauer who singled earlier in the inning.
That would be the game. The White Sox take the game tonight, but the Twins are back at it tomorrow night! Studs and duds after the jump.
Studs: Samuel Deduno for his 6 strong innings. Joe Mauer for his 2 walks and a double, Ben Revere for stealing his 32nd base of the year, and Jamey Carroll for his home run.
Duds: Josh Willingham who went 0-4 and struck out twice and Trevor Plouffe for going 0-4.
