• The newly-Vargas'ed Kansas City Royals have also signed former Twins pitcher P.J. Walters. Per MLB Trade Rumors, it's a minor league deal. I'll remember him for that one time he threw a complete game. (Seriously, we don't get those around here all that often and they should be supported and recognized.)
• Peter Gammons compared Alex Rodriguez to the Boston Marathon bombers. That's a really bad thing to compare him to!
• If you can believe agents, the Twins have kicked the tires on Gavin Floyd and Chris Capuano, per the PiPress' Mike Berardino, who spoke with their agent. Capuano has been on the Twins' radar before, and Floyd, who had Tommy John surgery in May, would be this year's Mike Pelfrey.
