Pitcher Preview: Diamond vs. Sanchez

This is the pitcher preview for the final game of the Tigers/Twins series.

Rick Osentoski-USA TODAY Sports

The Twins are looking to salvage a win after dropping the first two games against the division-leading Tigers. They have their work cut out for them.

W-L G GS CG SHO SV BS IP H R ER HR BB K ERA WHIP
2013 - Anibal Sanchez 3-1 5 5 0 0 0 0 33.2 26 6 5 0 9 41 1.34 1.04

Congratulations, Minnesota. After facing the best pitcher in baseball last night, your reward is to get up bright and early and face someone who struck out 17 his last start! As you can see above, Sanchez's other stats are pretty damn good, too. Good luck, boys.

2013 - Scott Diamond 1-2 3 3 0 0 0 0 16.2 24 9 8 2 2 10 4.32 1.56

Meanwhile, Scott Diamond looks to take back the mantle of staff ace from Kevin Correia (that was weird to type) in his fourth start of the year. He, in Gardy-speak, "battled" his last time out, giving up 12 hits, 47 of which were doubles, but only allowing three runs in 6 and 1/3 innings of work.

Back in a smidge with your lineups and juice boxes.
