Fast Reaction: Orioles 9, Twins 6

The Twins jumped out to a big lead. Then other things happened.

The Twins scored the first six runs. The Orioles scored the next nine runs. It was gross.

  • The promising start was keyed by a bases loaded single from Joe Mauer, who went 3-for-5 with 2 RBI on the night.
  • The Twins stretched the lead to 6-0 in 5th on a Trevor Plouffe double and an Oswaldo Arcia grounder.
  • Mike Pelfrey, meanwhile, was having little trouble until the top of the 6th, when the wheels just came the hell off. Three doubles, three runs.
  • Josh Roenicke and Casey Fien got rid of the rest of the lead in the 7th, with more doubles. So many doubles. And a throwing error from Plouffe.
  • And then the Orioles knocked Anthony Swarzak around in the top of the 10th with yet more doubles. Did I mention it was gross? Yes. But it was gross.
Enjoy your weekend, everybody.
