Game Thread: Twins vs. Red Sox, Game 39

Is it just me, or have I gone three consecutive weeks with the Twins losing Friday's game, thus causing me to fill this space with some comment about us ranting about the Twins or how the team is looking for redemption tonight? Regardless, here is where we can discuss tonight's game.

USA TODAY Sports

*Checks Twins schedule* Huh. Turns out the Twins have never won on a Friday this season. The best they did was a postponement back on April 19th against the White Sox. Thus, they are 0-6 on Friday's this season, making my intros to game threads pretty depressing thus far this season. At the same time, it's likely made Randball's Stu's Friday game recaps just as disheartening.

Know Thine Enemy: Over The Monster

We had to know that the Twins bullpen wouldn't stay excellent forever, but it's nonetheless frustrating when the regression occurs in a game that they probably should have won. Brian Duensing and Josh Roenicke were the culprits in yesterday's game, but really Aaron Hicks and Oswaldo Arcia have to do a better job of communicating in the outfield. It could be worse, I suppose. We could have been like the Astros and Jimmy Paredes, who apparently bowls over whoever gets in his way.

Today's game is a rematch of May 7th, which also featured Scott Diamond and Ryan Dempster as the two starting pitchers. Really the only difference here is that the game is now in Target Field, whereas last time it was in Fenway Park.

Again, I'm working at the game, so check the comments section for tonight's starting lineups.
