GameThread: Twins @ Nationals, Game 60: Game 2 of Doubleheader

The Twins took their lumps in Game 1 of the doubleheader and look for some revenge in Game 2.

First Pitch: 6:05 pm CST

TV: FSN
Radio: 96.3 KTWIN, TIBN

Know Thine Enemy: Federal Baseball

Well, that first game wasn't much of a fight. The Twins lost 7-0 and only mustered 3 hits against Jordan Zimmermann and Co. Zimmermann was masterful, striking out 8 and only allowing 6 baserunners (2 on errors) in 7 innings.

Ryan Pressly left Game 1 with a sore right triceps so he is pretty much guaranteed of being unavailable for Game 2. Jared Burton has had some groin soreness but supposedly he can pitch tonight, but that is yet to be seen. I don't think Caleb Thielbar will be available either after pitching 2 innings this afternoon, but that still leaves the Twins with 5 relievers.

Sam Deduno will start for the Twins in the nightcap, where he is 2-1 with a 3.44 ERA this season. He will be facing rookie Nathan Karns, who is making only his 3rd major league start. He is 0-1 with a 6.00 ERA so far this season. Karns throws pretty hard, with a fastball that averages about 93 MPH and a mid-80s curveball.

I'm out celebrating my sister's birthday tonight, so I apologize if I'm unable to get the lineups posted.
