In a deal that wasn't announced until after today's 3:00pm non-waiver trade deadline, the Los Angeles Dodgers have acquired Drew Butera from the Minnesota Twins according to Yahoo!'s Tim Brown.
Dodgers acquire catcher Drew Butera from Twins.

The loss of Butera was predicted, but this isn't the way I thought it would happen. The Dogers have A.J. Ellis and Tim Federowicz (who is posting Butera-esque numbers on his own) as the catchers on their Major League team, following the release of Ramon Hernandez. John Baker is also on the 40-man roster, recently claimed off of waivers by the Dodgers from the Padres. Butera has been optioned to Triple-A.
In return, the Twins gain a spot on the 40-man roster, the Dodgers will be paying Butera's salary for the rest of the season, and the Twins will receive a Player to Be Named Later or cash. Nick Punto, anybody?
Butera's Twins career ends with a .182/.230/.263 triple slash in 186 games and 534 plate appearances.
Au revoir, Drew. Thanks for the farewell tour last weekend.
