Twins at Blue Jays GameThread

USA TODAY Sports

Sorry folks, I'm on vacation and tried to get someone else to cover for me and I guess everyone else was busy.

Today, the Twins have Mike Pelfrey making his first start since being activated from the disabled list on Thursday. Pelfrey has struggled this year with an ERA over 6, but hopefully his stay on the DL has fixed what was ailing him.

Opposing Pelfrey on the mound is former Twin R.A. Dickey, who has had some struggles himself this year since coming over in an offseason trade with the Miami Marlins. I don't think many were expecting Dickey to keep his Cy Young form with joining the AL East, but he's also pitched worse than I think anyone expected. For what it's worth, Dickey has been pitching through some injuries this year which has likely hurt his effectiveness.
