This week's stud is:
Dan Gladden
The week before last, Danny took a vacation from doing the Twins radio broadcasts to have surgery on his wrists for carpal tunnel syndrome. He was back at it last Monday, however, doing what Danny Gladden does best: make you wonder "Did he really just say that?"
Just before the first pitch on Monday:
Gladden: "I'd like to thank Dr. Varecka very much, he gave me some of the Michael Jackson medicine. Made me sleep very nice."
Welcome back, Danny.
Gladden proceeded to spend the entire third inning--when he was supposed to be doing the play-by-play--talking about cow-chip throwing contests (that's a contest for how far you can throw a hunk of cow poop, for you laymen). Danny invited fellow broadcaster Cory Provus to his farm to practice throwing cow chips, and at one point expressed his disdain for the head grounds crew member who did not support a cow-chip throwing contest at Target field (Gladden: "We don't have to let the cows actually poop on the field we can bring the cow-chips from elsewhere!")
Gladden continued talking about "Cory Provus's favorite" pass-time, "cow-chip throwing contests," every game for the rest of the week, by the way.
His hot-streak didn't end there, though, as he dropped bombs the rest of the week--including, but not limited to:
Galdden, on the possible candidates for the 2014 All-Star Game Celebrity Softball Game: "Well Hrbek's out! He's hurt! If not I'll make sure he's hurt!"
Gladden: "Tom Kelly--wasn't it his birthday yesterday? So we can--we don't have to be nice to him today. We had to be nice to him yesterday. TK had a tendency to not play Danny Gladden on day games after night games. It was mostly on Sundays. Sunday is the day of rest anyway?"
Provus: *Audibly laughing*
So, Danny, for being, uh, Danny Gladden, you are the Twinkie Town stud of the week.

STUD OF THE WEEK RUNNER UP: Doug Mientkiewicz
Doug Mientkiewicz sprinted out of the @MiracleBaseball and just tackled a Bradenton coach. This was after his own pitcher plunked someone.
