Tigers 4, Twins 2: Diamond Fails to Shine Through the Fourth Inning

It was one inning tonight, the fourth, that did the Twins in, when the Detroit Tigers scored the four runs that would eventually win the game for them. Before that, the Twins had looked formidable--but alas.

DONUT!!!!

The Detroit Tigers managed to score all four runs they needed to win the game tonight in the top of the 4th inning, and that was it. The Twins put up a nice fight--starter Scott Diamond was able to work out of a 2nd inning, one out, bases-loaded situation, which was rather impressive against the Tigers line-up, or anyone who has observed the Twins recently.

The Twins took the first lead of the game in the 2nd inning when Ryan Doumit doubled and was driven in by a Chris Parmalee single. Obviously the Twins lost the lead with the Tigers' 4-run 4th inning, but Ryan Doumit did also hit a solo-homerun--and we'll take whatever we can get over here!

Also, let it be put of the record--all four earned-runs were recorded on starter Scott Diamond. Otherwise, relivers Michael Tonkin, Caleb Thielbar, and Casey Fien all had scoreless outings.

Just looking on the bright side here guys!
