Twins vs. Blue Jays News and Notes

The Twins return home to take on Toronto, against whom they are roughly 3-198 against in the past few years.

Probables (all games FSN)

  • Tonight, 7:10 pm: Mike Pelfrey vs. R.A. Dickey
  • Saturday, 6:10pm: Kevin Correia vs. J.A. Happ
  • Sunday, 1:10pm: Andrew Albers vs. E.A Rogers Esmil Rogers

Jays Notes

  • Jose Bautista will not play the rest of the season, which is good, good news for the Twins. In 144 career plate appearances against the Twins, he is batting .333 / .413 / .849 - far and away his best numbers against any team. He's also hit 19 home runs against Minnesota, tied for second with Tampa (but in 318 PA) and behind Boston (25, but in 320 PA).
  • Look out for reliever Jeremy Jeffress, who can hit 100 mph on the radar gun, but can't necessarily hit the catcher. Those guys are always fun. Remember Mike MacDougal on the Royals? He was fun.
  • Ricky Romero thinks that his problems are behind him, which is pretty big talk for a guy who was an All-Star in 2011 but had a 5.78 ERA in pretty much a full season at Triple-A this year.
