It wasn’t all that long ago, really. Three years and a few months. But on June 21, 2011, the Twins beat the holy hell out of Madison Bumgarner. Here’s the Twinkie Town game story, if you don’t want to take my word for it.
Note the starting lineup: there are three times as many players who aren’t even in the league anymore (Luke Hughes, Tsuyoshi Nishioka, Carl Pavano) as there are current Twins (Joe Mauer). Of the rest, the only one you can really say is even relevant anymore is Michael Cuddyer, give or take Ben Revere.
