We're getting near the end of the Arizona Fall League season. There are games today and tomorrow, but the championship is this weekend and then it's all over. The Salt River Rafters, with a record of 17-9-4, have clinched their division (AFL East) and will play against the winner of the AFL West at 2:08pm central on Saturday.
Let's look at the Twins' prospects.
Pitchers
Name | G | IP | BB | K | WHIP | ERA |
Adam, Jason | 9 | 12.1 | 5 | 6 | 1.95 | 4.38 |
Jones, Zack | 10 | 10.0 | 9 | 10 | 1.50 | 0.00 |
Reed, Jake | 10 | 12.2 | 3 | 10 | 1.03 | 0.71 |
Rogers, Taylor | 3 | 5.2 | 2 | 4 | 1.06 | 1.59 |
Position Players
Name | G | AB | EBH | SB | AVG | OBP | SLG |
Buxton, Byron | 13 | 57 | 2 | 5 | .263 | .311 | .298 |
Kepler, Max | 17 | 70 | 6 | 3 | .286 | .351 | .400 |
Rosario, Eddie | 22 | 92 | 6 | 10 | .348 | .356 | .435 |
You have to like what we're seeing overall. Rogers is back and contributing, Reed continues to do really well, Jones is doing well even if he can't stop walking people, and both Kepler and Rosario continue to hold their own.
I'm going to reserve my comments for this update, since there are only three more games to play. We'll come back with a full wrap up on Sunday or Monday, our final AFL update for 2014, and we'll make what judgments we can at that time. Let's see who finishes on a high.
