Pre-Game Notes

  • Minnesota has claimed outfielder Sam Fuld.
  • The Twins are still running with a three-man bench. Today's backups are Chris Herrmann, Darin Mastroianni, and Pedro Florimon.
  • Josh Willingham will be eligible to be reinstated from the disabled list in two days.
  • Billy Butler has a career .927 OPS versus Phil Hughes, but the current collection of Royals have only hit .236/.292/.416 against him in 89 at-bats.
  • Hughes has been susceptible to the big inning this season, and it's wrecked more than yesterday's game for the team. If he continues to leave his fastball up in the zone, it'll continue to get crushed.
  • Yordano Ventura is off to one hell of a start this spring. I'm sure he's due for a klunker.
