Looking to close out a 3 game series against the Tampa Bay Rays on a high note, today's pitching matchup at Tropicana Field will feature Minnesota's Ricky Nolasco facing Tampa's Erik Bedard. Nolasco, the Twins' Opening Day starter, has had a rough few starts, including his last one in Kansas City, where he gave up 11 hits and 5 earned runs in 5 2/3 innings. Amazingly enough, Nolasco still felt that he pitched well. Go figure.
Erik Bedard made his first start with Tampa last Friday against the New York Yankees. Bedard earned a no-decision, throwing 3 2/3 innings, giving up 6 hits and 4 earned runs in that time. His career record against the Twins is 3-5 with a 4.04 ER. Hopefully the Minnesota lineup will continue to hit well against Bedard while Nolasco keeps the team in the game.
