Rangers score 5 of their 7 runs with 2 outs as the Twins drop series opener.

Despite getting a homer from Trevor Plouffe in the bottom of the 1st, Texas used some two-out timely hitting and never looked back defeating us Minnesotans on memorial day 7-2. Kevin Correia went seven innings allowing four earned runs and somehow struck out five batters. Correia fell behind a handful hitters delivering 55 of his 90 pitches for strikes. Jared Burton relived Correia in the 8th with Elvis Andrus leading off the inning with a single. Burton retired the next two batters before Chris Gimenez poked a two-out double scoring two more RangersLeonys Martin adding another two-out RBI making it a done deal and another ugly outing for Jared Burton who's ERA now sits at 6.20.

The bottom of the order for the Twins had another great day for the including the new (full-time) right handed Aaron Hicks going 2-4, with Suzuki and Escobar also collecting two hits in the contest. Escobar stroked his 13h double of the month and is making a SERIOUS case for player of the month. Who woulda' thunk it. Twins will host the Rangers for game two of the four games series tomorrow night at 7:00, with two aces in Phil Hughes and Yu Darvish squaring off. Keep doing yo thang Philly.
