Pre-Game Notes

  • With two hits and a walk last night, Jordan Schafer gets his second start in a row in center field.
  • Thanks to Schafer, Danny Santana is making his second start in a row at shortstop after not starting there since June 25.
  • Anthony Swarzak is officially available to pitch today. He hasn't pitched since tweaking his ankle on Tuesday.
  • This is the ninth game in a row where Kennys Vargas has started in the cleanup spot.
  • Only three Royals have more than ten at-bats versus Milone. As a team, they've hit .224/.267/.347 against him.
  • Joe Mauer and Kurt Suzuki both have had a good deal of success against Jeremy Guthrie in the past. Brian Dozier and Trevor Plouffe, however? Not so much.
