In theory, this match-up shouldn't be fair at all. The Royals were supposed to start rookie flamethrower Yordano Ventura, but thanks to some back tightness they've had to turn to former Twin Liam Hendriks instead. You may remember that Hendriks was involved in a swap of former Twins, as he was acquired about a month ago with never-Twin Erik Kratz for third baseman Danny Valencia.
Facing him is Phil Hughes, who is looking to return atop the leaderboard for wins this season. Already with 14, a win tonight would tie him with 7 other pitchers for the major league lead. It's not entirely like Brad Radke's 20 wins in 1997 for a squad that finished 68-94, but it's pretty darn similar.
