Tonight's game marks the start of the last series of the Minnesota Twins' somewhat-pitiful 2014 season, and they'll start it against the first place (and playoff-bound) Detroit Tigers. No matter how terrible this season may have been, this is truly the start of the end of Twins baseball for the year, and that is always kinda sad. Tonight's game will feature rookie pitcher Trevor May throwing against Cy Young winner Max Scherzer. Sounds like a fair matchup, right? In May's last start, he struggled through 4 2/3 innings, giving up seven runs to the Indians offense last Saturday. Scherzer's last start was also on Saturday against the Kansas City Royals, where he threw seven solid innings, giving up just one run and striking out six batters.
