One day after the regular season concluded, the Star Tribune is reporting that Ron Gardenhire is out as the Twins manager. The Twins lost 90 games for the fourth consecutive season, finishing 70-92. Gardenhire has managed the team since 2002 and accumulated a record of 1068-1039 during his 13 year tenure as manager. A press conference is scheduled for 3pm to announce the decision.
From the article on TwinsBaseball.com:
The Twins will look both inside and outside the organization for a replacement for Gardenhire, and the coaching staff will be determined by the new manager in conjunction with Ryan. The contracts of all of seven of Minnesota's coaches expired at season's end on Sunday, but some could be retained by the new skipper.
