Game notes

  • Paul Molitor's re-shuffled lineup features the hot bat in the two hole: Sugar Shane on fire.
  • Seattle's starter Roenis Elias made 29 starts for the Mariners last year, and did a pretty good job of it. This is his 2015 debut.
  • A win today would give Minnesota three series victories in their last five, and would also make them 8-7 since being swept by the Tigers to start the season. Of course, they need to win first, but that doesn't sound so bad.
  • Torii Hunter and Kennys Vargas are off today. Oswaldo Arcia has shifted back to right field as Hunter sits, with Eduardo Nunez taking the DH spot and hitting fifth while Eduardo Escobar starts in left field and hits sixth.
  • After getting struck in the elbow by a baseball last night, X-rays came back negative for Trevor May so he should be fine for his next start.
