Torii Hunter received a 2-game suspension and an undisclosed fine for his tirade on the field Wednesday. In case you missed it, Torii screamed at a rookie umpire, threw his batting gloves, took off his jersey, threw his jersey, started taking off his pants, etc. Watch the video here (it's worth it).
Hunter is appealing the decision, calling it too harsh, so he will continue to play until there is a hearing or the matter is otherwise resolved. If Hunter had accepted the suspension, the Twins would have to play a player short for its duration.
Manager Paul Molitor commented, "In the future if he needs a day off he can just come into my office."
