The Twins have been struggling lately, but the energy should be flowing at Target Field tonight in anticipation of Byron Buxton's home debut. He and the rest of the Twins offense face a tough draw in Carlos Martinez, who has been solid in his first stint as a full-time starter in the major leagues this season. He's going to get a ton of strikeouts and ground balls, so the Twins will need to take advantage of any opportunities they receive in this game.
Facing him will be lefty Tommy Milone, who has been decent in 6 starts this year. Unfortunately his secondary numbers are poor though, mainly because he's been giving up an average of 2 homers per 9 innings. He's been benefiting from standing plenty of runners on base and the hits haven't been falling in yet, but Milone will need to miss some more bats and keep the ball in the yard if he wants to beat the Cardinals today.
