Sano, 22, hit .269/.385/.530 with 18 home runs in his rookie campaign. 80 games of highlight reel moon shots, an imposing presence, and a nearly limitless power ceiling were enough to see him finish third in the American League's Rookie of the Year voting.
Roc Nation now has six MLB players under contract, including Robinson Cano, Yoenis Cespedes, CC Sabathia, Rusney Castillo, Erick Aybar, and now Sano.
Looking ahead, Sano will be eligible for arbitration in 2019 (his age-26 season) and for free agency in 2022 (age-29). This means it will be Roc Nation Sports negotiating a long-term contract with the Twins in due course, although its easy to see that time coming sooner rather than later. Locking in young superstars is en vogue in baseball at the moment, and Sano certainly looks like he'll qualify.
