Today’s game was pretty glorious. Byron Buxton started the festivities out with a first-pitch INSIDE THE PARK HOME RUN. It’s better if you just watch: (or click here, because the video won’t work )
Circling the bases in 14 seconds. So yeah, he’s pretty quick.
That set the tone for the rest of the game. Miguel Sano blasted his 25th home run in the 3rd, scoring 3 runs. This, after Jorge Polanco hit a sacrifice fly to score Logan Schafer. The White Sox scratched a run across in the bottom of the 3rd, and the score was 5-1 after 3.
Byron Buxton walked with the bases loaded in the 6th to provide the final run for the Twins.
Jose Berrios pitched 5 solid innings, but wasn’t as sharp as we’d like him to be. He threw quite a few pitches and got himself into trouble with a couple walks.
The Sox were able to get single runs in the 7th and 8th out of the Twins bullpen, but it wasn’t enough. Final score: Twins 6, White Sox 3.
Byron Buxton and Miguel Sano are the studs, and nobody is a dud.
From all of us at Twinkie Town, thank you! Thanks for joining in on the game threads and indulging my satires and letting me write about the Twins.
