Sources are reporting that the Twins are planning to call up Alex Meyer today to help shore-up their bullpen after yesterday's six-hour marathon game. Meyer has been in AAA working on moving back into a starting role, but it appears those plans will be put on hold for the time being.
Meyer has pitched 17.1 innings in AAA so far this year, carrying a 1.04 ERA with 19 strikeouts and 4 walks. Although that doesn't sound too bad, Meyer did struggle a bit this year in spring training, and owns a 16.88 ERA from his brief stint in the majors last year.
No word yet on what the correlating roster move will be, but it sounds like Tyler Duffey may be headed for the DL. LEN3 makes it sound like another move today is also possible.
