Byron Buxton and Max Kepler sent down; Danny Santana activated

Rest in peace, 2016 Minnesota Twins outfield defense.

Earlier today, news came out that Alex Meyer was being called up to the show. We had to wait to find out the correlating roster move, but now you have it: center fielders Byron Buxton and Max Kepler are going to AAA.

The Twins also activated Danny Santana from the 15-day DL.

With Buxton and Kepler gone, Santana and Eddie Rosario will presumably be sharing center fielding duties. Unfortunately, because of stupid "rules", they will not be sharing these duties at the same time. A four-player Oswaldo Arcia/Rosario/Santana/Sano outfield sounds like it could catch some balls. An Arcia/Rosario/Sano outfield? Not so much.

There are, of course, other possible outfield combinations. Arcia/Santana/Sano or Rosario/Santana/Sano, but at this point,  in terms of defense, it's a little like re-arranging chairs on the deck of the Titanic.

As reported earlier, Alex Meyer is also getting called up to help out the overused bullpen. LEN3 had suggested earlier today that Tyler Duffey would be moved to the DL, but since he was not, the Twins are now carrying 14 pitchers. This leaves a backup catcher and backup outfielder on the bench. The Twins likely won't leave it that way for long.
