Eduardo Escobar, who has been on the disabled list with a strained groin since May 6th, was activated Monday. He played in three rehab games this weekend in Florida, and should be available Monday night as the Twins take on the Royals at Target Field.
Escobar appeared in 27 games this season before hitting the DL. He has only played shortstop so far (he played a variety of positions in previous years), and has a slash line of .237/.275/.289. Eddie started off much hotter before falling into a slump. Hopefully the slump was tied to the groin issues, and everything is fixed now!
To make room on the 25 man roster, Jorge Polanco was sent back to the minors.
