Know Thine Enemy: Royals Review

The Twins, behind the actually-pretty-solid Ervin Santana, try to get that elusive 12th win today and prove without a doubt that Minnesota is a better state than Kansas Arkansas Missouri(Huh.)

Starting for Kansas City will be Edinson Volquez, who has done pretty well against the Twins over his career with a 3-1 record and 2.13 ERA in 7 games.

Notes:

  • Brian Dozier is warming the bench again, so we'll have to wait and see if Torii's advice helps.
  • Some Twins have hit Volquez okay in their careers. Mauer (.438) and Plouffe (.333) will be the most likely candidates to lead any possible charges today, though The Eduardo Nunez is a perfect 3/3 against him as well.
  • The Royals hitters have hit Ervin pretty well, including old friend Drew Butera hitting him to the tune of a .333 batting average in 9 ABs.
  • I discovered the following last night, so obviously today is going to be the start of the amazing wild-card berth run.
