Darin Mastroianni to DL; LHP Buddy Boshers called up

While you were sleeping, the Twins were making roster moves (because of course they were).

The Twins were at it again with roster moves this morning, placing outfielder Darin Mastroianni on the 15-day disabled list with a strained left oblique muscle. Correspondingly, the Twins called up left-hander Buddy Boshers from AAA Rochester and moved Glen Perkins to the 60-day DL.

So the Twins are now going with 13 pitchers and a three man bench. This makes sense considering the Twins have been going through pitchers like Twins fans have been going through rally beers (when will they start to work?). Thanks to neither Ricky Nolasco nor Ervin Santana making it more than four innings, every single member of the bullpen has made at least one appearance in the past two days.

Hence, Buddy Boshers, who is already at Target Field. It's unclear if he is available to pitch today.

Buddy Boshers had a 1.42 ERA in 15 appearances for the AAA Rochester Red Wings so far this season. He throws 90 miles an hour. He pitched in 25 games with the Angels in 2013. Eddie Guardado and LaTroy Hawkins helped him with his change-up during spring training. He's also a warm body.

Boshers was not on the 40 man roster, so to make room the Twins moved Glen Perkins to the 60-day DL. Glen will be elidgible to come off the on June 10th, which is no big deal because we already knew he isn't doing well anyway.
