Welcome to the Twinkie Town Farm Report. We're going to recap everything that happened last night, May 27th, in the Twins' farm system. Are you ready? Let's do this.

AAA: Rochester Red Wings 5, Charlotte Knights 0

SP Logan Darnell was the star of the game, pitching a complete-game shut out to carry the Red Wings 5-0 over the Knights. The Wings struck early when CF Byron Buxton walked and later scored on a sac fly by 1B Kennys Vargas in the bottom of the first. Buxton drove in the second run of the game in the 5th inning with a double to score SS Wilfredo Tovar. The double extended Buxton's hitting streak to six games. The Wings' final three runs came in the bottom of the next inning thanks to a trio of RBI doubles by RF Eddie Rosario, LF Buck Britton, and DH Adam Brett Walker.

Britton and Tovar also made excellent defensive plays in the top of the 5th to help out Darnell.

AA: Chattanooga Lookouts 6, Tennessee Smokies 5

It was a walk-off win for the Lookouts! LF Travis Harrison did the honors with an RBI single to score SS Leonard Reginatto in the bottom of the 11th. The game lasted 4:12, the longest game for the Lookouts this year.

Besides the walk-off, the biggest highlight of the game came in the 3rd inning when RF Daniel Palka hit a 463 foot grand slam to put the team up 4-1. It was Palka's second grand slam and seventh home run of the season.

RP Luke Westphal pitched 2 innings in relief, striking out five of the seven batters he face.

High A: Charlotte Stone Crabs 3, Ft. Myers Miracle 2

On rehab assignment from the Twins, SP Kyle Gibson started the game for the Miracle. Gibson pitched 5 innings, giving up 1 earned run on 6 hits. He gave up 0 walks and strukout 6.

Embarrassingly, however, the Miracle lost the game on a walk-off passed ball in the bottom of the 9th inning. With the game tied 2-2 going into the half inning, Miracle RP John Curtiss gave up a walk to Crabs' 1B Alec Sole, who reached second when the next player bunted, and then third when Curtiss threw the ball away into left field. Sole later scored on a passed ball to win the game for the Crabs.

Low A: Wisconsin Timber Rattlers 8, Cedar Rapid Kernels 3

Not a good night for Kernels SP Derek Rodriguez (son of Pudge). D-Rod lasted only 3.2 innings, giving up a career-high 7 earned runs on 6 hits and 3 walks.

The Kernels scored a couple runs back, thanks to a two-out RBI double by 3B Nelson Molina in the 6th inning and a throwing error that allowed 2B Sean Miller to score in the 7th.

Miracle RP Michael Theofanopoulos (gesundheit) have up one 1 hit and 0 earned runs in 2 innings of relief.
