Series Preview: Twins at Angels

This is a bit late, but so is the game tonight (for those of us in the CDT).

Not even Trout can save them.

After taking one of the games (basically sweeping) in the Red Sox series to finish their homestand, the Twins go to Los Angeles to face the Angels (of Anaheim, of the USA, of North America, of Earth). Let's take a quick look at how the Angels are doing.

Notable injuries: Oh my god.

Basically the Angels have been decimated by injuries this year, the worst three probably being SP CJ Wilson, SS Andrelton Simmons, and SP Garrett Richards.

Those injuries have definitely hurt, as they are currently 27-36 and 12 GB in the AL West.

Rankings

ERA: 24th (4.49)

Runs scored: 17th (267)

Here's a great read by Grant Brisbee about why the Angels are screwed.

The Matchups

Game 1

Tonight, 9:00 PM CDT

Ricky Nolasco vs Jered Weaver

Most pitchers get noticed for how fast their fastball is, Weaver is the opposite.

Game 2

Tuesday, June 14th, 9:05 PM CDT

Ervin Santana vs Jhoulys Chacin

Santana gets to face his old team.

Game 3

Wednesday, June 15th, 9:05 PM CDT

Tyler Duffey vs Hector Santiago (LHP)

The ERA's for both of the starters are over five, so we could see some offense here.
