Minnesota Twins Minor League Stars of the Week

We are back with this week's installment of the Minnesota Twins Minor League Stars of the Week.

Tommy Milone - Rochester Red Wings
Tommy Milone - Rochester Red Wings

This week we go into the Minnesota Twins minor league organization to find the shining talent that we name the Minor League Stars of the Week.  Read on to see who we have named for this week's stars and take a moment to answer the poll and comment on any other players you feel that should have been named.

Cedar Rapids Kernels (A - Low) - Sean Miller (SS) - Our star for the Kernels this week is Sean Miller, shortstop for Cedar Rapids.  It was tough picking a star from Cedar Rapids this past week as there wasn't any obvious dominant performances but the best overall week for a Kernels player was had by Miller.  This is Sean's second time making the Stars of the Week here on TwinkieTown, nice to see Miller make the repeat performance.  For the past week, Sean hit .280 (7/25) with 2 R, 2 2B, 1 RBI, and 1 SB.

Fort Myers Miracle (A - Advanced) - Felix Jorge (P) - This week's star from Fort Myers is Felix Jorge, starting pitcher for the Miracle.  Before we get into the numbers for Jorge, congratulations are in order for Felix as he will be one of the ten Fort Myers Miracle players to make the 2016 Florida State League All-Star Game roster.  Congratulations to Felix Jorge and all of the Fort Myers Miracle players chosen for the 2016 FSL All-Star Game!  For the past week, Jorge made two starts and went 2-0 allowing just 1 earned run over 14 2/3 innings pitched.  Felix allowed nine hits over the two starts and had an eye-popping strikeout to walk ratio of 14 K's to just one walk!

Chattanooga Lookouts (AA) - Mitch Garver (C) - Our star from the Lookouts this week is Mitch Garver, catcher for Chattanooga.  Before I get into the numbers for Garver, congratulations are in order here as well as Mitch is one of five Lookouts players that have been named to the 2016 Southern League North Division All-Star roster.  Congratulations on the honor Mitch Garver!  For the past week, Garver hit .273 (6/22) with 3 R, 2 HR, 8 RBI, and 4 BB.

Rochester Red Wings (AAA) - Tommy Milone (P) - This week's star from the Red Wings is Tommy Milone, starting pitcher for Rochester.  There were a couple of deserving players that could have been chosen for this honor for the first place Red Wings but I went with Milone due to both his strong outing this past week and his solid performance over the past month.  In his lone start this past week, Milone did not get a decision while pitching seven innings in the contest.  Tommy didn't allow any earned runs on his way to striking out eight batters and allowed just one walk.  Milone hasn't allowed more than one earned run in each of his last three starts and hasn't allowed more than two earned runs in each of his last seven starts!

(Stats are through Wednesday, 6/15 games)

There you have it for this week, our Minor League Stars of the Week.  Use the poll below to vote for your favorite star and comment if you think a player not listed should be a Minor League Star of the Week!
