Twins 7, Yankees 4: Twins hang on to win on Father's day

Happy Father's day!

Ervin Santana needed a good start, and we got one today as he held the Yankees to 6 hits and 3 runs (2 earned) in 7.1 innings. One of them came on a Brian McCann solo home run in the 2nd, the first run of the game for either team.

It took the Twins until the 5th to answer with a run of their own, and the Yankees had already added another run in the 4th. Max Kepler hit a solo shot into the flower bed in right field to cut the lead to 2-1. In the 6th, the Twins took a lead and then some with 5 straight hits which included a double, a triple, and 4 runs. 5-2 Twins.

Brian Dozier blasted a solo homer of his own in the 7th, and Danny Santana drove in Kepler (who doubled) in the 8th for 2 more insurance runs.

The Yankees scored single runs in the 8th and 9th but that wasn't enough and the Twins won the game, salvaging one game from this series.
