AAA: Rochester Red Wings 5, Buffalo Bisons 2
Red Wings SP Logan Darnell held on to beat old friend SP Scott Diamond as the Red Wings trampled the Buffalo Bisons 5-2. Darnell pitched 6.1 innings and was responsible for both runs, while Diamond also pitched 6.1 innings but was responsible for three runs, which is funny because Darnell gave up 10 hits total and Diamond only gave up six.
How did the baby Twins score those five runs? Well, both LF Adam Brett Walkers and C John Ryan Murphy (!) hit solo home runs. It was Murphy's first home run of the season. CF Eddie Rosario also hit a double and scored on a following SS Wilfredo Tovar single.
DH Buck Britton and 3B James Beresford also had RBI singles.
AA: Chattanooga Lookouts 6, Jacksonville Suns 1
SP David Hurlbut lived up to his name, hurling 7 strong innings for the Lookouts. He gave up only one earned run on six hits and no walks, while also striking out five.
The offense did pretty well too. RF Daniel Palka hit a triple and scored two runs. DH Mitch Garver went 2-for-4 with an RBI and also two runs scored.
High A: No Game
[No Box Score]
Low A: Cedar Rapids 11, Kane County Cougars 5
Holy offense! SS Sean Miller, 1B Zander Wiel, and DH Jermaine Palacios each had two RBIs this game, with 2B Luis Arraez and CF Daniel Kihle each adding one of their own too. A true pirhanah style effort for such a large score
With the win, the Kernels also took sole possession of first place in the Midwest League's Western Division.
