AAA: Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders 2, Rochester Red Wings 1
SP Logan Darnell threw 7 innings and gave up no earned runs, but the Red Wings could only manage one run—driven in by 2B Jorge Polanco—and it wasn’t enough. Why?The pesky unearned runs, once again. 3B James Beresford had the fielding error
1B Byung Ho Park was back in the line-up, going 0-for-3 with a walk. RF Daniel Palka did the same.
AA: Chattanooga Lookouts 1, Birmingham Barons 0
The Lookouts totally edged the Smokies, scoring the only run of the game in the top of the 9th inning thanks to a RF Travis Harrison solo blast.
SP David Hurlbut started for the lookouts and lived up t his name, pitching eight shut-out innings on eight hits, one walk, and four stikeouts.
High A: Ft. Myers Miracle 6, Dunedin Blue Jays 4
LF Daniel Kihle, 1B Trey Vavra, and C A.J. Murray each hit solo-home runs for the Miracle as they stomped the Blue Jays 6-4.
Miracle SP Sam Clay pitched 5 innings and gave up two earned runs on nine hits and two walks. RP Nick Anderson pitched two shutout innings and RP Yorman Landa gave up two runs in 2 innings pitched, but who cars. No big deal. I want moooorrreee....
Low A: Kane County Cougars 7, Cedar Rapids Kernels 4
Kernels SP Dereck Rodriguez, son of Pudge, didn’t actually earn the official loss this time! D-Rod have up only two earned runs over 6 innings, which was better than RP Max Cordy, who gave up three earned runs over 2 innings to earn the loss AND blown save.
RF Jaylin Davis hit a triple.
Rookie: Elizabethton Twins 4, Greeneville Astros 3
2B Travis Blankenhorn hit a three-run home run in this mighty baby Twins win over the baby Astros. SP Alex Schick didn’t do such a horrible job, giving up only one earned run over 5 innings. He earned the win.
