Indians 6, Twins 1: Twins forgot to bring bats

The Twins really couldn’t do anything today.

First things first... Much congratulations are in order for John Gordon, as he was elected to the Twins Hall of Fame before the game. He was the voice of the Twins on the radio for so many years, a voice I and many others instantly associate with Twins baseball.

As for the actual game, it did not go so well. The Twins weren’t able to do much against Josh Tomlin today. He pitched 7.2 innings, allowing only 6 hits and a walk. The one run the Twins got today came off the bat of Max Kepler in the form of a solo blast to right field in the 6th.

The Cleveland offensive was started by Mike Napoli in the 2nd inning on a towering solo homer to left. They scored another run in the 5th, and two more in the 6th. Two more insurance runs in the last two innings (solo homers by Tyler Naquin and Jason Kipnis) to ice the cake, and Indians won 6-1.

One other note from this game, Yan Gomes left the game with an apparent shoulder injury today. Hopefully, he's OK.

Studs:

Brian Dozier (2-4, 2B)

Max Kepler (1-4, HR)

Duds:

Kyle Gibson (6 IP, 10 H, 4 ER)

Rest of the lineup: 3-25 (.120)

Thanks for coming out to the thread everyone, enjoy your week! Also, if you say the final out loud, it sounds like the Twins won!
