The Twins just couldn't really get anything going today, because apparently they hate America. Ricky Nolasco had an okay start, going 6 innings and giving up three earned runs on four hits and three walks. But yeah--that was not nearly enough.
The Twins managed to load the bases in the bottom of the 4th inning for Max Kepler, who came to the plate and hit an RBI ground out for the Twins' only run of the game. At least they got a run? For America?
Coco Crisp ended up hitting in the go-ahead run for the Athletics in the 7th inning off Taylor Rogers once Nolasco was replaced. It wasn't fun, to say the least.
For real, the highlight of the game was probably this sick Dozier-Nunez-Vargas double play:
That's about it.
STUDS!
- Joe Mauer: 2-for-3, 1 double, 1 run scored, and 1 walk (FOR AMERICA!)
- Michael Tonkin: 2 innings pitched, 1 hit, 0 walks, 3 strikeouts.
Duds
- Brian Dozier: 0-for-4, 2 strikeouts.
- Eduardo Nunez: 0-for-4.
ROLLCALL!
