Twins 11, A's 4: Rain Rampage

After almost 3 hours of rain delay, the game no one thought had a chance to be played began being played at around 10:00 PM. Those few brave souls who were still paying attention would be rewarded, because our Twins remembered to bring their bats tonight. I said there would be hitting, and my god was there hitting.

Tommy Milone was in pretty dire need of a good start to keep his rotation spot, with Jose Berrios knocking on the door down in AAA. Despite sitting around in the rain for a bit, he still managed to perform, pitching 6 complete innings of 1-run ball. All the other Oakland runs would come in the 8th off of bullpen savior Neil Ramirez. Of course the damage was done by a Danny Valencia 3-run jack. All ex-twins play like superstars against us.

Backing Milone was the sexy offense. Kennys Vargas and Max Kepler hit back-to-back dongs in the 5th. For Vargas it was his first major league HR of the year, for Kepler his 6th. Later in the 8th Miguel Sano crushed a 3-run shot to pad the lead even more, his 13th of the year. Byron Buxton also had himself a night, smacking two doubles.

Milone's best start of the year was rewarded with his first W of the year. Oakland's starter Sean Manaea would take the loss.

Robbie Grossman swung at a pitch that ended up hitting him, which is always embarrassing.
